Abstract
408,333. Sluice valves. TIMPSON, A. F. C., 155, Minories, London. Oct. 12, 1932, Nos. 28443 and 32038. [Class 135.] In sluice &c. valves wherein two discs 4, 5 are moved in their own planes by a screw rod 15, being opened out to ensure a tight closure with the final movement of the rod which expands balls 14 owing to the engagement of a plunger 18 on the carrier ring 12 with a stop 25 on the casing, tubular walls or bosses 6, 7 are formed on the valve discs, being loosely connected by screws 8 projecting into a groove 9. The tubular walls may telescope as shown in Fig. 1, or may be of the same diameter and encircled by a separate ring (Fig. 2, not shown).
