R., (trading as GUTERMANN & CO.), 1, Landstrasse, Gutach, Breisgau, Germany. Oct. 6, 1932, No. 27829. Convention date, May 11. [Class 18.] A box for displaying and storing articles, e.g. spools of silk, is divided into compartments for columns of the articles which are pressed upwards by springs c, and premature ejection of the top article is prevented by bosses or studs, not shown, at the top of the compartmentforming walls f, the latter being higher than the transverse walls of the compartment so that, when the top article is to be withdrawn, the ends thereof can be gripped between the fingers. The bosses which may be resilient are formed by indenting the walls f. The columns rest on caps d formed of concavo-convex metal, &c. strips with stiffening indentations at the angles. When a column is nearly exhausted, a pin n provided on the cap d and running in a groove in one of the partitions forces back a spring- pressed lever h of which the turned over end is normally visible through an aperture in a plate at the top of the compartment. As an alternative indicating device a piece of coloured paper, &c. may be inserted between two of the articles. The lid of the box is provided with a glass panel o.
