Abstract

Convention date, April 29, 1931. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v).] An amplifying circuit comprises coupling resistances of the order of 100,000 ohms, preferably of the order of one megohm or more, and valves in which the capacity between the anode and the other electrodes is made small by the use of an anode which consists of a wire 4, Fig. 1, parallel to the cathode 1 or of a very few windings 4, Fig. 3, of wire surrounding the cathode 1 and grid 3. The grid may consist of a flat spiral 3, Fig. 1. To activate the cathode, electron-emitting material is generated by high-frequency currents from a material which is held on a metallic member which does not form an electrode. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 314,332 and 316,789, [both in Class 39 (i), Electric lamps, Arc &c.].
