[Class 102 (ii).] In a reservoir shaving brush, toilet cream tube, grease pump, or like dispensing device of the type in which the contents are delivered by means of a sliding piston co-operating with a screw-threaded spindle, the spindle may be disconnected from its actuating member when the piston reaches the end of its stroke, withdrawn from the container together with the piston, reversed and restored to the container, so that the device is then in a condition to be refilled. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, a piston 2 held against rotation by a rib 3 is engaged by a screw-threaded spindle 4 operated by a cap 6. The ends 4a, 4b of the spindle are similar, each being adapted for engagement in a boss 5 on the cap 6. The head of the brush is detachable to enable the spindle 4 to be withdrawn and reversed when the handle 1 requires refilling. If the handle is to be refilled from a tube of shaving cream, the tube may be fitted with a long nozzle adapted to reach to the bottom of the handle. Fig. 6 shows a grease pump the spindle 4 of which is similarly formed at each end for engagement by the boss 5 on the actuating handle 18. A device for dispensing soft soap is shown in Fig. 7, the soap being delivered through a goose-neck tube 21. The piston instead of forcing the soap downwardly may be adapted to compress it during its upward stroke, expelling it through an opening at the top of the container.
