Abstract

404,538. Garment stands and presses. DEAS, J., 27, Circus Drive, Dennistoun, Glasgow. June 2, 1933, No. 15968. [Class 141.] A stand for supporting wearing apparel comprises an upright frame 7 surmounted by a jacket and waistcoat hanger 6 and having cross-bars 13 to which is rigidly secured the back board 15 of a trouser-press, the frame having a base 8 adapted to support footwear. The base is mounted on castors 11 and the frame 7 is buttressed by props 10. The trouser-press comprises spaced clamp boards 16 secured to bars 17 having holes at one end and open-ended slots at the other engaging clamp screw fittings 18, and a stretcher comprising bars 19 hinged to the back board 15 at 20. By disengaging the clamp fittings 18 from the slots at one side, the clamp boards 16 can be swung from the back board about the fittings 18 at the other side. The uprights 7 may have hooks for brushes or a hand mirror.
