[Class 83 (iii).] In a jig for drilling holes in tubular members, particularly those used in aircraft construction, a number of standards are slidably arranged on a bed, each standard carrying a work-supporting member and a drilling bush. Standards 11, Fig. 1, are secured by screws 12 in an adjusted position on a bed 10 and each carries a worksupporting member 13 recessed at 14 to fit the work 15 or provided with a V-notch. A horizontal drilling bush 16, held in position by a head 19 thereon and a screw 20, is mounted on one side of each standard 11 and a clearance hole 17 for the drill is provided at the other side. The work is gripped by a U-shaped bracket 28 pivoted at 27 to a block 26 through which passes a screw 25 screwing in a bridge 22 pivoted at 23 and locked at 24 . to the standard. The sides of the support 13 are cut away at 18 to clear the drill. The standards may be set on the bed from a drawing or by means of a previously drilled master tube placed against an end stop. For drilling inclined holes, the supports 13 and bushes 16, Fig. 3, are carried by brackets 30 angularly adjustable on the standards 11 by means of arcuate guides and gripping pads 33 held by screws 32, the drills being again horizontal.
