Abstract
403,967. Filling - opening for motor spirit containers &c. SWAN, T. M., Mid Colder, Midlothian. June 25, 1932, No. 17992. [Class 21.] Within the usual neck of a container for motor spirit and for powder &c. is provided a tilting tube which leaves a space for venting between itself and the inside of the neck, the usual cap being also provided. The neck A has a tilting tube B held by a disc C which is perforated. A similar disc may be provided at the bottom, and these discs may be in one with the inner and outer necks. The inner tube may be in contact with the neck the space between the two serving as vent. In this form the top disc may be reduced in size to leave half the neck open for venting, the filling tube being carried by the disc. The inner tube may also be central and connected with the neck by wings. The outer neck may also be elongated and bent. In another construction top and bottom disks are connected by a centrally arranged filling tube and vent tubes are arranged in a circle round it.
