[Class 40 (iv).] A high impedance carbon granular microphone is obtained by part coating one or both of the rigid carbon plate electrodes with a non- conducting layer, such as enamel, paint, lacquer or paper, the layer being of such thinness that the dynamic properties of the microphone are substantially unaffected.
