400,769. Mixing-machines. PHILLIPS, A. M., 43, Broadwater Avenue, Letchworth, Hertfordshire, and TAYLOR, A. H., Fittocks, Cheveley, Newmarket, Cambridgeshire. Oct. 19, 1932, No. 29298. [Class 86.] A machine for mixing sweetening liquids, such as molasses, with grain, chaff and similar cattle feeds, comprises a fixed casing b of conical shape converging towards the outlet end b<1>. Grain &c. is fed in at a and molasses at i, the two being mixed by arms c and inclined beaters d, e on a rotary shaft. Baffles g and g<1> are fixed to the casing. Molasses is fed by a rotary pump through a suction pipe j from a tank (not shown). The delivery of the pump can be varied by a valve operated by a hand lever k. The pump is driven by a belt l<2> or by spur gearing off the shaft f. The outlet end of the casing b has a shroud b<1> with two downwardly directed delivery shoots b<2> alternatively opened by a diverting plate h.
