[Class 6 (ii).] An apparatus for making and spraying solutions, e.g. insecticides, of the kind in which a cylindrical vessel 6, having a water inlet 9 at one end and a detachable cover 14 and outlet leading to a spraying nozzle at the other, contains a framework or cage provided with compart. ments to hold the substance to be dissolved, is provided with a cellular framework 21 of rectangular cross section having its corners adjacent the cylindrical wall of the vessel so as to provide segmental shaped passages for the flow of water between the cellular framework and the cylindrical walls. The insecti. cide, e.g. soft soap and nicotin, is made into a jelly and inserted into the framework which is formed of a number of rectangular cells 21, 22 formed of strip material the corners approaching the cylinder to form segmental liquid passages. The strength of solution sprayed may be varied by filling more or less of the cells or having frames of different size which may be clamped in the cylinder, or by sliding shutters on the framework. Two different substances may be exposed to the water in a single vessel 6, or two vessels in parallel may be used. The sides 21 of the framework and the partitions 22 may be perfor. ated or formed of gauze, and open-work covers may be provided across the cells to retain the jelly.
