Abstract

400,022. Rontgen-ray tubes. MœLLER AKT.-GES., C. H. F., 24, R÷ntgenstrasse, Hamburg, Germany. Dec. 23, 1932, No. 36473. Convention date, Jan. 7. [Class 39 (i).] To increase the heatradiating capacity of a rotary cylindrical anode having the focal spot at its end, the cylindrical surface of the anode 13 is made rugged as by forming grooves 15. The grooves may be formed by building up the body 13 of discs alternately of large and small diameters. The discs are of good heat-conducting metal such as copper and may be provided with a black coating such as nickel oxide. Alternatively the grooves may be formed by a helical wire wound about the body 13. The wire is of superficially oxidized nickel or of tungsten, tantalum or molybdenum or is provided with. a black coating such as nickel oxide after winding on the body 13.
