Abstract

399,581. Bolts. ROE, E. J. T.,47, Victoria Street, London. April 27, 1932, No. 12102. [Class 89 (i).] Means for anchoring fittings to concrete floors &c. consists of a trough-shaped member 1 embedded in the concrete and having outwardlybent anchoring flanges 4 along the longitudinal edges, a longitudinal slot 2, and an internal partition 6 forming a hollow space 5 for the reception of the T-head 7b of a bolt 7. The member 1 may be formed of two Z-shaped parts which are spaced apart, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, to provide the slot 2 and connected by the partition 6. This partition may be of trough-shaped form and welded at its ends to the members 1. The shank of the bolt 7 adjacent the head 7b may be of square cross section to fit closely against opposite sides of the slot. In an alternative form, shown in Fig. 6, the member 1 is formed as a sheet metal pressing with outwardly-inclined sides, and the partition 6 is spot-welded between such sides. The metal at the edges of the slot may be bent inwards and serrated, as shown at 3b, Fig. 9, for engagement with corresponding serrations 7d formed beneath the head 7b of the bolt 7. For use with the members, shown in Figs. 2 and 6, the end of the bolt 7 may have a diametral slot 7c to enable the bolt to be brought into correct position in line 'with slots 3a, Fig. 6, provided on each side of the main slot 2.
