Abstract

399,165. Diaphragms. BRIDGER, R. 0., 334, Goswell Road, London. March 17, 1932, Nos. 7949 and 15225. [Class 40 (iv).] Seamless diaphrams for loud-speakers are made by depositing pulp or a gauge or other perforated or porous former, the deposited pulp being dried by pressing between hot dies or by baking in an oven whil( still on the former. The diaphragm may be pressed and. further treated, if desired, after it has been removed from the former. The former with the applied pulp may be pressed between gas-heated dies j<3>, k, the lower of which may be lined with felt &c. l. The former may be corrugated at its periphery in which case the upper die j<3> is similarly corrugated, but the lower die is left uncorrugated. The diaphragm, when made, may be damped, inverted and re-pressed so that it is reversed. The diaphragm may be provided with integral coil-supports &c. by modifications of the former and pressing dies.
