399,129. Cleaning boots. ROSTOKER, L., 312, Arlington Avenue, Toronto, Canada. May 27, 1933, No. 15388. [Class 138 (i).] A door mat, or a motor-car running-board mat, of the kind provided with brushes B having flexible cores D and mounted so as to be free to revolve, comprises means whereby the brushes are cleaned automatically as they are revolved during use. As shown, the said means consist of bars C screwed to the underside of the frame A and having serrated upper edges and being inclined to the vertical The weight of the user brings the brushes into contact with the bars. Two series of cores D are supported by journals M, the inner pairs of which are covered by a removable plate H. The brush surfaces protrude through slots formed by ribs L which are supported on uprights F resting on the bottom of a dirtreceiving pan G.
