399,067. Steering motor vehicles. STEVENS BROS. (WOLVERHAMPTON), Ltd. and STEVENS, H., Retreat Street, Wolverhampton. Jan. 26, 1933, No. 2489. [Class 136 (i).] In steering - mechanism for three - wheeled motor vehicles of the type having a front steering-wheel mounted in a spring fork, a sprocket wheel 7 is fixed to the stem of the spring fork on the outside of the front screen 18, and is connected by a chain 17, passing through the screen 18, to a sprocket wheel 16 mounted on the vehicle frame and rotated by means of a hand-wheel &c. 10. The sprocket wheels and chain 17 may be duplicated as shown in order to increase reliability. The double sprocket wheel 7 is secured by studs to bosses on a cross-member on the upper end of the fork stem. The double sprocket 16 is fixed to a tube 11 rotating with the hand-wheel 10 about a tubular stem, which is secured to a frame tube 4 by a clip 13, the position of which may be adjusted to tighten the chains 17. A nut on the lower end of the tubular stem clamps the stem to the clip 13 and the clip to the frame tube 4.
