[Class 19.] A device for cleaning the hearths of baking ovens comprises roller brushes 8, 9 fitted to a tubular handle 1 driven by a motor 2 characterized in that a Cardan joint 4 is interposed in the shafting between the motor and bevel gears 5, 6. The brush carrier 7 is spring- mounted at 10, 11. The springs are connected at one end to holders 12, 13 on the handle and to links 14, 15 connected with the carrier spindle 7. Vertical movement of the brushes is prevented by two cover plates 16 &c.
