Abstract

397,042. Stencils and stencil-printing apparatus. BRAUER GES., C. F., 26, Pionierstrasse, Stettin, Germany. March 6, 1933, No. 6773. Convention date, March 5, 1932. [Class 100 (ii).] The heading of a stencil by means of which the stencil is attached to the securing-bar of a rotary duplicator is in the form of a straight, stepped, or curved V or U with the object of preventing crooked insertion of the stencil in the typewriter or in the duplicator. As shown, a heading 14 made of cardboard or formed by folding the usual backing-sheet on itself, is cut away to form a Vee 16 adapted to engage a correspondingly-shaped rail 13 on a cross-bar 1 ; alternative shapes comprise a stepped V and a notched V. The heading may have the usual rectangular end which is marked, perforated, or embossed along the line where it is to be severed. Slots 18 in the heading fit over buttons 5 on the bar 1, other buttons 6 normally in line with the buttons 5 being turned through a right angle to lock the stencil in position by means of a single slide 3 arranged underneath the bar 1 and movable longitudinally by means of a stud 11 ; each button carries an arm having a pin engaging a lateral slot in the slide 3.
