[Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv).] In an arrangement foi supplying an alternating or a pulsating direct current tc lamps, motors, heating elements or other consuming apparatus 5 through a seriesconnected condenser compris. ing a number of condense] units 7 .. 10 arranged ir parallel and combined witl a change-over device for placing one or more of the units in circuit, such units are provided with a common solid dielectric layer 11, e.g. of impregnated paper, and with separate leads connected to the contacts 17 .. 20 respectively of the change-over device. The latter comprises a segment 13 carried by an arm 15 rotatable by a handle 16. The condenser units may be shunted through an additional contact 21 and a lead 22.
