Abstract

A floor or wall covering composition consists of cork from which the acids have been extracted, which may be coloured as desired, and a binding-agent such as cement, gypsum, or the like. The acids may be extracted by treatment with caustic potash. The percentage of cork may range up to 90 per cent by volume of the finished mixture. The composition may be applied as a continuous surface or in the form of preformed slabs. Specification 253,007, [Class 70, Indiarubber &c.], is referred to.
