396,521. Batteries. EVER READY CO. (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., Hercules Place, Holloway, and KONINGSVELD, M. VAN, Coombe, Minchenden Crescent, Southgate, both in London. May 25, 1932, No. 14869. [Class 53.] The dolly 3 of a dry cell is insulated from the zinc cup 2 by a member 1 of paper &c. having radial arms which are turned up when the dolly is inserted in the zinc cup, as shown in Fig. 2. The arms are of sufficient width and length to enclose the dolly completely. The member 1 may be cut from a single piece of material or two or more separate strips superposed upon one another may be used. The material used may be cellulose wadding, cotton wool, glass wool, cotton waste, paper, &c., or, according to the Provisional Specification, esparto grass. If paper is used it may be embossed on one or both sides so that it fills the space between the dolly and the zinc cup and serves as an absorbent for the electrolvte. Material which is decomposed by the electrolyte may also be used.
