[Classes 44, 89 (i), and 89 (ii).] A detachable-clip for use in hanging, supporting, or attaching fittings, such as conduits and the like, or finishes, such as plaster units or blocks to surfaces of concrete or other material comprises two component members having jaw parts which, in the operative position of the clip, when the two members are directly connected to each other, co-operate to produce by themselves an anchoring head of dovetail shape for engagement with a backwardly-flared recess or cavity in the surface. The clip may comprise two pivotally-connected angular members 23, 24, of which the short arms 23b, 24b constitute the jaws and are adapted to lie side by side, as shown in Fig. 5, for introduction into the cavity. After insertion into the cavity, the jaws are separated, as shown in Fig. 6, for engaging with the sides of the cavity and the long arms of the clip are then locked by a pin passing holes 23c, 24c. Other locking means consist of a rod, bolt or screws. The longer arms of the clip may be hook-shaped to support pipes 26 or 27, as shown in Figs. 7 and 8. In an alternative form, the clip comprises two members, of semicylindrical section, of which one is provided with a screw-threaded cylindrical extension 23i, as shown in Fig. 9. The two parts are inserted separately and are then connected by a pin 30. The cavity may be formed by a socket member which is cast into the surface and consists either of a'metal casting 10, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, or of two pressed or stamped metal sections 19, 20, Figs. 5 and 6, having interfitting flanges. The socket may be provided with apertures to receive anchoring wires 12, 22 which become embedded in the concrete. The casting, shown in Fig. 3, may be provided with diametricallyopposite flutings 15 to receive the jaws of the clip, and a cover-plate 18 is provided to prevent concrete entering the recess during moulding. In an alternative arrangement, the jaws of the clip may be adapted to enter and engage the undercut surfaces of holes provided in the hollow tiles forming a ceiling or partition.
