Abstract
395,769. Nest-boxes for poultry. NICHOLSON, G. H., Burnside, Kirkcudbright. Jan. 27,1932, No. 2457. [Class 5 (ii).] A laying-box has an inclined bottom f of wire or similar material, an egg-collecting compartment c in front of the laying-box into which the inclined bottom of the laying-compartment extends to deliver the eggs, and a drawer e provided within the egg-collecting compartment to receive the eggs. A bottom g preferably of wire netting or similar material is arranged below the bottom f, hay or straw m resting on g so as to be visible through the wire bottom f. The bottom g is hinged and is retained in position by a catch g<2>. By freeing the catch the bottom can be tilted to remove the straw. Hinged flaps k extend along the entrance to the extension c and a buffer j is fitted to engage eggs rolling down the bottomj The drawer e is fitted with a wire-netting bottom el.
