Abstract
389,380. Telemeter and view-finder for photographic cameras. LEITZ GES., E., Optical Works, Wetzlar, Germany. Aug. 12, 1932, No. 22595. Convention date, Jan. 22. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i).] In a combined telemeter and view-finder for attachment to a camera, of the kind described in Specification 389,379, the rays from the object which approach the eye respectively through the telemeter and through the finder along non-coincident paths are caused to emerge from the casing through a single observation opening. As shown in Fig. 1, a finder telescope F, G is centrally disposed in a telemeter casing A, and the rays from the object which are reflected by the telemeter mirrors B, D are doubly reflected in a prism L lying close to the finder eyepiece G, so that they pass from the casing through the same aperture K as the rays from the finder. In a modification, in addition to a doubly.reflecting prism between the mirror D and the observation aperture a similar prism is placed between the objective and eyepiece of the finder, and the observation aperture is moved to a position opposite the mid-point between the finder objective F and the telemeter window E. In both constructions a, diaphragm H may be included.
