Abstract
388,891. Work-holders. BLERIOTAERONAUTIQUE, 1, Quai du MarÚchal GalliÚni, Suresnes, Seine, France. Dec. 19, 1931, No. 35211. Convention date, Feb. 11. [Class 83 (iii).] A device for holding thin articles, and particularly thin metal sheets in smoothing- machines, has a movable jaw with a distortable wall, supported by fluid pressure, to engage the work. A pair of levers b<1>, b<2>, closed by a stationary wedge e, have one jaw f of tubular form, filled with oil and sealed, and the other solid. If desired, both jaws may be of tubular form. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also modifications in which the tube f carries a number of pistons m, Fig. 6 (Cancelled), which engage the work, or it may be expanded by forcing in fluid. In another modification the work is held by jaws n, Fig. 7 (Cancelled), carried by linkwork p. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
