388,598. Bullet-proof clothing. JACKSON, L. MELLERSH-, 28, Southampton Buildings, London.-(Honda, K. ; 75, Katahiracho, Sendai, Japan.) April 25, 1932, No. 11852. [Class 141.] Protective garments suitable for ordinary wear but convertible into shot-proof garments are provided with pockets into which are placed thin steel plates of an alloy steel, or other suitable metal plates. A steel having a Brinnell hardness of 200 to 550 is stated to be suitable. The pockets 2, 3, 4, Fig. 2, are arranged with inclined partitions 7 so that the metal plates 8, 9 are in overlapping relation, as shown. The pockets may be closed by press button fastening elements 5, 6, as in Fig. 1. A sliding-clasp fastening may also be used.
