Abstract
388,503. Invalids' mattress. HUNER, J. P., 437, Rijksstraatweg, Wassenaar, near The Hague. Nov. 24, 1931, No. 32473. Addition to 347,634. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iv).] In a sanitary convenience mattress forming the subject of the parent Specification the opening is surrounded by a resilient cushion 3 with internal ribs which produce grooves 6 sloping toward the opening. The cushion is preferably an inflated one and the mattress may be built up of separate parts 25 the joints between which form grooves in the waterproof cover 1 and act as drainage channels. The lower part of the cuff 2 is flared outwardly and has a border depending into the drain pan 7. Chains 17 and ties 19 are provided adjacent the opening to regulate the height of the mattress and to keep the walls of the cuff in a taut condition.
