[Class 126.] A heat radiating or absorbing surface which may be flame-heated, consists of a number of recesses 1 of diminishing cross-section within the surface. Eddies of air are produced in the pockets when a main air current flows over the surface. The recesses may be of pyramidal, conical, or paraboloidal cross-section.
