[Class 142 (iii).] A weft feeler for effecting automatic replenishment or stoppage of the loom on exhaustion of weft comprises two bobbin contacting limbs, each of which is rotatable about an approximately vertical axis independently of the other. In one construction, two blade-like metallic limbs 2, Fig. 1, are provided with pin extensions 5 by which they are pivotally mounted in a member 1 yieldingly supported by the forked extension 13 of an arm 14 carried by a cam-operated member 18. The pins 5 are encircled by helical braking springs 7 which bear against heads 6 and cause friction surfaces on the limbs to press against the under side of the member 1. On weft exhaustion a stop motion or other mechanism is actuated through electrical connections 11 attached to the heads 6. In a modified form two feeler limbs 25, Fig. 4, are made integral with frames 26 which are pivotally mounted on pins 29 provided on the upper and lower ends of two hinged members 31, the pivot pin 30 of the latter being yieldingly supported by a vertically movable arm 39. During normal weaving the feeler moves upwards and downwards relative to its supporting means, but on weft exhaustion an arm 47 on the feeler structure engages an arm 48 and brings about stoppage or replenishment. An adjusting screw 36 is provided for positioning the lower ends of the feeler limbs.
