Abstract

383,995. Secret contact-combination switches. TAMS, P. E., 121, Gordon Road, Enfield, Middlesex. May 26, 1932, No. 24538/31. [Class 38 (v).] A switch for nullifying a - burglar alarm on windows, doors, drawers, &c. and for use in the ignition circuit of a motor vehicle consists of two discs D, Da, one of which is made of metal and the other of insulating material, the discs being connected together by a metal stud 5 and an insulating stud 6. The discs are mounted on a spindle B which is connected electrically to a terminal F, a contact H rubbing against the discs being connected to a terminal G. 'The external circuit is connected to the terminals G, H and is kept normally open or normally closed by removing the discs from the spindle B and replacing them with the appropriate disc engaging the contact H. If the metal disc is made use of the circuit is normally closed and is opened by rotating the spindle and discs by a knob Ba to bring the insulating stud 6 under the contact H. The required position of the knob Ba is determined by means of a pointer and dial. If the insulating disc D is used the circuit is normally open and is closed by rotating the knob Ba to bring the metal stud 5 and contact H into engagement.
