381,093. Photographic printing- apparatus. DELAFON, J. M. J., Les Charmerettes, Samoreau-sur-Seine, Seine-et- Marne, France. March 17, 1932, No. 7976. Convention date, March 20, 1931. [Class 98 (ii).] A machine for printing on to slow emulsion films comprises an elongated box 1, Figs. 1 and 2, having a mercury-vapour tube 6, reflector 7, condenser 8, and an apertured front 12 closed by one or more doors 2 forming a passage-way 3 for the films. The films 4, 5 are drawn through by a pair of rollers 10, 101 of small diameter, one being driven, the other rotating freely. Additional similar pairs of rollers may be provided at the feed and exit ends of the printing box. The film passage may be modified to accommodate additional pairs of rollers 11, 11<1>, Fig. 4, which are mounted on the door 2 and on the box 1 respectively. To ensure parallel light illumination the condenser may be in sections 8<1> with separating opaque blades 9, 9<1>, or alternatively the faces of the sections may be blackened. A number of printing boxes may be superimposed. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the closure doors may be omitted and pneumatic means (pressure or vacuum) provided to prevent relative slipping between the films, This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
