Abstract
381,044. Impulse transmitters. RICHTER, M. B., 7, Amaliegade, Cope.nhagen. Jan. 9, 1932, No. 712. [Class 40 (iv).] In a governor-controlled transmitter of the dial type, decreasing torque on the shaft during the return movement due to decrease of spring- tension is compensated by a driving gear of continuously variable ratio. The shaft b carries a spiral pinion f gearing with a similar pinion g rotatably mounted on a shaft h to which is adjustably secured a drum k carrying the driving spring j the ends of which are secured to the pinion g and drum k respectively. The spirals are preferably Archimedian. The parts are shown in Fig. 2 in a position just before reaching normal, the ratio of the effective radius of pinion f to that of pinion g being substantially at a maximum. The governor (not shown) is driven by a gear wheel q loose on shaft band rotated by the engagement of pawl p with ratchet wheel o on the dial during the return movement. The impulse springs n are actuated by a projection on one of them engaging the impulse wheel u secured to gear-wheel q, and when the dial reaches normal, a finger v on the shaft b engages a bell-crank x1, x2 which holds the impulse springs in contact and locks the impulse wheel u.
