Abstract
380,240. Nonconducting coverings for heat. KREWS, E., 4, Hathaway Road, Grays, Essex. Aug. 28, 1931, No. 24282. [Class 64 (ii).] Heat-insulating material around the shell of a boiler or the like is secured to the inner surface of plates 13, Fig. 2, so held against the shell by clips or bands that no permanent attachments or structural modifications are necessary. The plates may be supported by Z-shaped clips 10 held against the boiler shell by bands 12, or by U-shaped clips 21, Fig. 5, engaging the edges of adjacent plates and secured against the boiler shell by cords or bands 23. The insulating material is held in cages or envelopes having flaps 16, Fig. 1, held by hooks 17 soldered to the back of the plates. The flaps are made of wire netting, sheets of asbestos or the like.
