[Class 79 (iii).] A raised support for motor vehicles comprises a braced pair of runways 10 pivoted on a trestle or the like 12 and resting normally with one end upon the ground, being tilted to the horizontal by the weight of the vehicle when the centre of gravity thereof passes over the pivot 13. A rigidly secured frame 14 at the upper end, in conjunction with a pivoted frame 15 at the lower end, renders the support stable in the horizontal position. The pivoted frame 15 may be dispensed with, the upper or rear part of the support being extended in this case so that the vehicle may be located over the trestle 12 and frame 14. In the horizontal position, the hinged parts may be secured, as by clamping bolts 23. The ends 19 of the runways may be closed to provide wheel stops. Detachable extension runways 21 may be fitted to enable the gradient to be reduced. An intermediate detachable runway 22 may be provided for vehicles of narrow wheel base. The trestle may be mounted on wheels 20 which may be removed or raised off the ground when not required for transport purposes.
