Abstract

379,537. Burglar alarms. TIBBLES, J. H., Brodsworth, Blenheim Crescent, Leigh-on-Sea, and RELY-A-BELL BURGLAR & FIRE ALARM CO., Ltd., 49A, Wilson Street, Finsbury Square, London. Sept. 29, 1931, No. 27164. [Class 118 (i).] Relates to retractable grills for protecting shop windows and the like. In the form shown in the Figure, the vertically retractable grille is provided at its lower free end with a metal strip 2 which is separated from the grille by insulating blocks 3. The strip 2 normally rests upon two contacts 4, 5 mounted on blocks 6, 7 of insulating material, the contacts forming part of a normally closed electric alarm circuit. Upon the movement of the strip away from the contacts, the circuit is broken and an audible and/or visual alarm is rendered operative. Specification 335,311, [Class 20 (iii), Doors &c.] is referred to.
