[Class 29.] Compression machines and systems. -A portable compression refrigerating machine for a refrigerator cabinet is mounted upon an L-shaped frame adapted to be moved horizontally through the door of the cabinet. The compressor 1, motor 3, and air-cooled condenser coil 2 are supported by the base of the frame, while the evaporator, which comprises a brine tank 24, Fig. 3, containing evaporator coils 26 arranged at the sides of the tank and centrally disposed ice trays, is carried by the heat-insulated vertical leg so as to project into the storage space of the cabinet. The vertical leg of the frame is provided with an enamelled panel 10<1> which, when the machine is inserted into the cabinet to rest upon the inward projection of the rear wall of the cabinet, covers an opening in a partition 47<1>. An airtight joint is maintained between the evaporator and the door of the cabinet by a gasket 24<1>. Air is circulated over the condenser coil and the compressor between two sets of louvres 43<1>, Fig. 4, in the upper part of the front of the cabinet by a fan 4, and the compressor motor is controlled by a thermostat. In a modification, the compressor is carried by the motor which is mounted upon a base supported on three springs, and the vertical leg of the L-frame is provided with a hollow projection containing the supporting means for the evaporator and through which pass the refrigerant conduits. The refrigerant liquid reservoir which, in the first-described arrangement, is disposed in the base is supported immediately above the condenser coil.
