372,861. Stop-watches. MELLI, V., Locarno, Tessin, Switzerland. March 2, 1931, No. 6476. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1930. [Class 139.] A centre-seconds stop-watch comprises a thrust mechanism actuating a control disc 11 which controls both an aligning lever 16 acting on a heart on the seconds hand arbor 22 and an oscillatable bow 26, this bow carrying a wheel 27 driven from the movement and removably entrained with a wheel on the seconds hand arbor. A lever 3, when rotated counterclockwise about its pivot 2 by a pushbutton on the outside of the case, moves a pawl 5 against spring 9 to advance ratchet wheel 6 one tooth clockwise. Rigid with this ratchet wheel is a star wheel 10 acting on the end 15 of a lever 16 the other end 151 of which coacts with a heart-shaped cam 21 on the shaft 22 of the centre seconds hand. Also rigid with wheel 6 is a cam 11 with notches 29 to receive the end 30 of a frame 26 which is pivoted at 28 and has pivoted to it at 25 a wheel 24 which transmits the drive from a movement-driven pinion 27 to the centre seconds wheel 23. Successive actuations of members 3, 5 rotate the star wheel 10 and disc 11 so that wheels 24, 23 are engaged and disengaged and lever 16 positions the cam 21 for starting, stopping, and zeroizing the watch successively.
