Abstract
372,860. Grab - buckets. V O O R - WINDE, W., 93B, Pretorialaan, Rotterdam, Holland. March 2, 1931, No. 6449. [Class 78 (iv).] In grab-buckets in which the closing ropes 7 pass around pulley blocks 9, 10, the closing force may be adjusted by laying one or more lengths of the rope between the two blocks over a fixed guide such as 13, so as not to be shortened during the closing movement. The guides 13 may be adjustable vertically and may be placed so as to permit of some shortening of the guided length of the rope. To avoid friction in this case the guide may be a pulley as at 131.
