Abstract
372,711. Breaking billets. MASCHINENBAU-AKT.-GES. VORM. EHRHARDT & SEHMER, Saarbr³cken, Germany. Jan. 20, 1932, No. 1765. Convention date, Jan. 28, 1931. [Class 83 (iv).] In a machine for notching and breaking by bending, a billet k is supported on a tool f and is notched on descent of a tool F, Fig. 2. It is then broken whilst supported on a member c by descent of tools b, Fig. 1. The tools F, b, are oscillated alternately by cams on a motor driven shaft e. The tools f, c are mounted on a carrier g oscillated at right-angles to the axis of the billet by a cam on shaft e to position the tools to co-operate with the tools b, F. Roller and like tables.-The billet is supported on a spring urged roller p which raises the workpiece from the bottom tool on ascent of the upper tool.
