Abstract

Dihydroxydiaryl sulphides in which the arylene radicals do not contain substituents having acidic or basic functions, are employed as antioxidants for rubber which is to be vulcanized cold. Specified compounds are 4-41-dihydroxydiphenyl sulphide, 4-41-dihydroxy, 3-31-dichlorodiphenyl sulphide, 4-41-dihydroxy, 3-31-dimethyl diphenyl sulphide. The invention is particularly directed to the production of proofed fabrics. Specification 359,045 is referred to.
