Abstract
370,843. Scavengers' carts. WALKER BROS. (WIGAN), Ltd., Pagefield Iron Works, Wigan. Oct. 28, 1931, No. 29851. Convention date, Sept. 4, 1931. [Class 108 (i).] In scavengers' vehicles the side walls are arranged so that a storage space is bounded by two walls and a third wall is disposed parallel thereto to give a shrouded passageway to be used in emptying the dust bins. In Fig. 1 the walls 3, 4 bound a storage space 5 while the outside wall 6 gives a passageway 8. A flexible screen 12 may be provided. In another form the outside wall 16, Fig. 4, of the passageway may be carried by an extensible part 17 of the roof so that the wall 16 may be collapsed against the wall 14 when not required. The outside wall may be a flexible sheet. A platform 31 may be positioned in the passageway 32, Fig. 7, on which dust bins may be placed for removal or emptying.
