Abstract
369,261. Photometric apparatus. CONSTABLE, F. H., St. Johns, Cashio Lane, Letchworth, Hertfordshire, and RADIOVISOR PARENT, Ltd., 28, Little Russell Street, London. Nov. 15, 1930, No. 34479. [Class 97 (i).] Light intensities are recorded by projecting a series of light impulses from the source of illumination upon a light-sensitive cell, and applying the output from the cell, after correction and/or amplification, to a recording device. The light to be measured is regularly interrupted at a frequency in the low audio range and is then focused on a selenium cell Z. The interrupting means may comprise a toothed wheel, a vibrator, &c. The light may be reduced in a known ratio by an iris diaphragm or an adjustable slit &c. Fig. 1 shows one form of amplifying circuit employing two stages of amplification. The output from the cell Z is passed to the grid of a high amplification valve V1 through a condenser C1 and a highresistance variable grid leak P. The output from the valve V1 is transferred to an output valve V2 by a transformer T1 and a circuit containing resistances R5, R6 and an inductance L. The output from the valve V2 passes via a transformer T2 to the measuring circuit,. Fig. 3, which may comprise a rectifying valve V and a direct current milliammeter &c. A.
