[Class 97 (i).] A kinematograph camera is housed in a double-walled casing having sound - deadening material between the walls and constituting the sole supporting and spacing connection between them. As shown, the casing comprises two parts 1, 2 connected for relative movement by rods 10, secured to the part 2, and movable in slides 9, secured to the part 1, by projections 11 engaging a curved slot 12 in an arm 13 rota,table by a handle 17 through worm gear 15, 16. The casing encloses a motor 22 driving the camera 24 by a belt 23, the controls therefor being carried by the casing and operable from outside it; a glass carried by a ring is fitted in the walls of the part 2 so as to be opposite the camera lens 25 when the casing is closed, the glass being fitted near one end of the ring so that the direction in which the ring is inserted may be changed if necessitated by the focal length of the lens. The top edges of the material between the walls of the part 1 may be grooved, to accommodate a rubber flange projecting from the edges of the material between the walls of the part 2, and form an airtight joint.
