367,521. Stringed musical instruments. LEVY, A., 28, Hatton Garden, London. Jan. 19, 1931, No. 1722. [Class 88 (ii).] In a zither having accompaniment strings playable by the fingers or a plectrum, and melody strings (diatonic or chromatic) playable by a keyboard, the keyboard action is vertically adjustable. The keyboard may be positioned by dowels, and has an elevating screw H at each side. The keys J, K have flexible hinges M and depress the spring-mounted hammers I<3> by studs K<1>. The hammer-heads may have metal striking-pieces Q, and may be weighted with lead at P. The cover-pieces D2, D3 are hinged for access to the action. In the diatonic action the key carries a check-pad. Specifications 14532/03, 17360/03, 3166/04, [all in Class 88, Music &c.], 20349/10, and 26246/12, [both in Class 88 (ii), Music &c.], are referred to.
