[Class 103 (ii).] An electric vehicle propelled by current derived from overhead wires bv means of a trolley pole mounted on the upper deck or roof therof, is provided with means for housing the long rod usually employed to control or manipulate the trolley pole. For this purpose, a steel tube or like container of suitable length and diameter may be clipped to the side pillars on the inner wall of the vehicle body, conveniently between the waist line and bottom sill, so as to be out of sight. The tube extends longitudinally, dipping towards the front end, the rear opening being accessible from the conductor's platform and flared to facilitate insertion and withdrawal of the rod.
