Abstract

366,814. Foot-arch supports. KAY, A. H., Stamford House, Alderley Edge, near Manchester. April 29, 1931, No. 12585. [Class 81 (ii).] A foot-arch support a made of vulcanite or like mouldable material is thickened beneath the arched portion to provide a seat for an interchangeable cross-bar b, preferably formed of soft rubber or cork, which may be secured by screws, by a dovetail tongue and groove, or by an adhesive. A single screw may be used having its head moulded into the cross-bar, or two screws c, Fig. 5, may bear against a plate e moulded within the bar. The support a may be perforated and may have reinforcing fillets d at the arched portion. The cross-bar may be rectangular or semicircular in cross section and may have parts f, Fig. 7, extending from its sides and bearing against similar thickened parts of the support.
