Abstract
364,408. Tables, seats, &c. HARRISON, F. L., 108, Brook Street, Coogee, New South Wales, Australia. Feb. 24, 1931, No. 5768. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii).] A board 1, forming part of a table, seat, or the like, is pivoted on brackets 6 by means of pivot pins 3, 4 on one of which is fitted a compression spring 10 tending, to move the board laterally into recesses 8. The compression of the spring may be regulated by nuts 11, 12 accessible by means of a removable cover-plate. In a modification, the spring is on the right-hand side of the board, and is housed in a cylinder projecting sidewise from the bracket 6. In another modification, the board is pivoted at each end in a block 20, Fig. 5, sliding in a jaw-bracket 22 against the pressure of a spring 24 on a bolt 23 ; the board may be turned down after the blocks 20 are withdrawn sufficiently.
