Abstract

363,884. Metal pipes. DREYER, A., 3, Villenstrasse, Lucerne, Switzerland. Feb. 10, 1931, No. 4191. [Class 99 (ii).] Relates to flexible or corrugated metallic tubes formed of band iron by rounding the band iron transversely to its longitudinal direction into a tubular form, closing the tube seam by butt-welding, calibrating the tube, and then shaping the walls thereof into parallel or helical grooves. In order to make a tube of large diameter, say 300 mm., a band is used which consists of separate bands a<1>, a<2>, a3 united along their longitudinal edges s by butt-welding. Specification 294,598, [Class 83 (ii), Metal articles &c.], is referred to.
