Abstract
Viscous solutions of the artificial silk industry, such as cupra-ammonium cellulose solution or viscose, are filtered through linters, wood pulp, or mixtures of these materials, which are brought into a flat or plate form without the use of adhesives and inserted in filter presses, flat filters, or candle filters. The cellulose plates may be covered, on one or both sides, with a protective fabric, such as batiste, and reinforced, on one or both sides, by wire sieves, for example of iron, nickel, bronze, or aluminium. The plates may be formed by deposition from suspension of the fibres in water, the deposited fibres being pressed between felt and dried on heated rollers. The fabric may be combined with the fibrous layers during the wet part of the process. The layers of fabric may be sewn together or fastened by wire clips.ALSO:Viscous solutions of the artificial silk industry, such as cupra-ammonium cellulose solution or viscose, are filtered through linters, wood pulp, or mixtures of these materials, which are brought into a flat or plate form without the use of adhesives and inserted in filter-presses, flat filters or candle filters.
