362,977. Hose pipes with woven tubular sheaths. SCHLEICHER, K., 13, Schwarzburgerstrasse, Bad Blankenburg, Thuringia, Germany. Sept. 12, 1930, No. 27257. [Classes 142 (ii) and 142 (iv).] A hose pipe has one or more woven sheaths 2, 6, surrounding the rubber core 1, Fig. 2, or cores 1, 4, Fig. 3, the warp threads of each sheath extending spirally instead of being parallel to the axis of the tube. The weft or warp may be of wire, or the fabric may comprise various combinations of yarns or wire, pure silks, wild silks, artificial silks, vegetable fibres or animal fibres. To twist the warp threads, the rubber core is passed over a long mandrel, which is given an uniform feed and also a rotary movement during the weaving.
