[Classes 106 (i) and 106 (iii).] Autographic recorders.-A portable apparatus for autographically recording the issue of tickets or vouchers includes a resiliently mounted guard-plate for normally masking the tear-off teeth on the casing. The voucher strip is fed from a roll c over a shelf q and writing-table r to an outlet t by means of pawls p carried by a slide o adapted to be reciprocated by hand on the lid of the casing. Reverse movement of the strip is prevented by pawls B engaging the lines of perforations in the strip and raised at the end of the return stroke of the slide by a cam C. The record strip f is wound from a spool d to a spool e the feed being performed by a rack h on the slide engaging a toothed sector i carrying a pawl driving a ratchet wheel k. These parts are all mounted on the inside of the side wall a<1> hinged to give accessibility and made in one with the lid. When the wall is shut dogs l on the wheel k register with holes in a clutch member non- rotatable but slidable in the spool e and pressed outwards by a spring. The guard-plate y is vertically slidable under the action of a spring and has an inclined top edge to guide the voucher strip over the teeth x, the plate yielding downwards when the strip is pulled for severance by the teeth. A carbon strip u is looped around bails v<1>, w<1> carried by stiffly pivoted levers, one of which is movable by an external knob for changing the copying surface.
